Requirements

RaiDrive also depends on the following components. The installer adds any of these that are missing automatically — you don't need to download them yourself.

Install

1. Download the installer from www.raidrive.com/download.
2. Run it and follow the setup wizard.
3. Start RaiDrive from the Desktop — it also adds a tray icon.

Sign in to get started

RaiDrive requires signing in before you can add a drive. On first launch — and any time you're signed out — the app shows a Welcome to RaiDrive screen with a single Sign In button instead of the drive list. See Account & License → Sign in for the sign-in steps (a third-party account or a RaiDrive email account both work).

Once signed in, the drive list appears, empty and ready for your first drive:

Updating

RaiDrive checks for updates and notifies you inside the app. See Settings → General → Update for the app version display and the manual Check button.

Uninstalling

Remove RaiDrive from Windows Settings → Apps. Disconnect your drives first so no application is holding files open.

System tray

RaiDrive stays in the system tray (the notification area at the right end of the taskbar) as an icon the whole time it's running.

• Left double-click — opens the main window.
• Right-click — opens a menu: Open RaiDrive, Check update, Add, Settings, (Lock/Unlock, if the app lock is on), a per-drive submenu (Connect/Disconnect, Edit, File Explorer), and Exit.

Closing the window doesn't quit the app

The X button on the main window minimizes it to the tray instead of quitting — drives stay connected. To fully quit, right-click the tray icon and choose Exit.

Troubleshooting

Symptom	Cause	Fix
"RaiDrive requires installation by an Admin user account"	Installer not elevated	Install from a Windows administrator account (right-click → Run as administrator)
Install rolls back / "Device driver installation failed"	Antivirus or security software blocks the file-system driver	Temporarily pause the antivirus, install, then re-enable it
"RaiDrive is not ready to start. You need to restart the system."	The driver needs a reboot to finish setup	Restart Windows
Installer flagged by an antivirus as suspicious	False positive on the driver package (seen with some engines)	Verify you downloaded from www.raidrive.com, then allow it
"WebView2 Runtime" install error, or RaiDrive won't start after install	The Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is missing or broken	Install the WebView2 Runtime manually, then retry
App fails to start with a WebView2 error after installing alongside an older RaiDrive version	Older builds shared one WebView2 data folder between product versions	Update both installations to the current version (fixed by separating the data folder per product)
