Basic per-drive options in the drive properties.

Drive letter and name

Pick the Windows drive letter and the label shown in File Explorer. The default is the first available letter and the storage's name.

Reconnect at program start

This option reconnects the drive automatically whenever RaiDrive starts. A small auto-connect badge appears on the drive when enabled.

For a drive mounted as a Public local disk, the same option becomes Reconnect at boot — the drive comes up when Windows boots, before anyone signs in.

Sign in on each connection

With this option on, RaiDrive does not save the account credentials (username, password, etc.) — you can save the drive without entering them, but you must sign in every time you click Connect. Turn it on when you don't want credentials left on the PC.

Read-only

Blocks every change on the mounted drive — no copy in, paste, move, delete, rename, or new files and folders. Reading and copying files out still works. A read-only badge appears on the drive.

For Google Photos this option is always on — the storage itself does not support writing.

Local Disk

By default a drive mounts as a network drive in the Network locations section of Explorer. With Local Disk checked it appears under Devices and drives like a USB drive instead — some applications (media servers such as Radarr or Plex) only accept local-disk paths.

Combine it with the visibility option:

Public	The drive is visible to other accounts on the PC and can be shared over the network
Private	Only your Windows account sees the drive

Individual, Team, or the Local Disk add-on

Local Disk (including the Private option) requires the Individual or Team plan, or the Local Disk add-on on the Essential plan — see raidrive.com/pricing. Mounting into a folder instead of a drive letter requires the Public option.

Education plans

There are two education subscriptions: the original Education plan includes the File Lock addon but not Local Disk, while Education 2024 includes Local Disk instead. If Local Disk is unavailable on your subscription, check which of the two you're on — see this forum thread.

To share a public local-disk drive on your network, use Explorer's standard Properties → Sharing → Advanced Sharing on the drive.

Mount into a folder

On a Public local disk, you can use a folder as the mount point instead of a drive letter. Uncheck the checkbox to the left of the drive letter combo — it switches automatically to Public local disk and shows a folder picker instead of the letter combo. Click the folder icon to choose an empty folder on a local NTFS drive.

File Lock

Restricts other users' changes to a file while you are editing it — useful when a team works on the same storage. RaiDrive manages the locks on the mounted drive itself, recognizing how each editing program opens and locks files.

Team, or the File Lock add-on

File Lock requires the Team plan, or the File Lock add-on on the Essential plan — see raidrive.com/pricing.

Programs with dedicated lock handling:

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
• LibreOffice / OpenOffice
• Hancom Office (HWP)
• Adobe InDesign

Other programs are handled generically — behavior may vary depending on how the application opens files.

Proxy

Route this drive's traffic through the proxy configured in Settings → Proxy. Enable it per drive when only some storages need the proxy.
