Cache¶
RaiDrive stages transfers through a cache folder on a local disk: reads (downloads) and writes (uploads) pass through it, and recently used data can be served from it again without re-downloading.
Cache path¶
Where the cache lives. Click the folder icon to choose a different location, then confirm — RaiDrive reconnects the drives to apply it. The Default button restores the default location.
Note
The cache folder must be on a local disk. Network drives are not supported.
Cache lifetime¶
How long read (download) and write (upload) cache files are kept, set separately for each:
- Longer lifetime — faster repeated reads and writes, because more data stays local.
- Shorter lifetime — less local disk space used.
Uploads and downloads pass through the cache, so transferring a file needs free local space up to that file's size.
The Default button restores the default lifetimes — 30 minutes for both read and write.
Troubleshooting¶
